Why do lawyers lie? The CPAO story of Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches. Why do lawyers lie? Why indeed?

Why indeed? Usually to defend their position. Robert Gubbins, CPAO director, was asked by a judge directly the reason for not responding to a letter by Global Payments, a credit card processing company, requesting the sales draft for the Marshall Sone credit card transaction in which he paid my fees. Gubbins claimed that he had provided everything that he had and there was nothing else to be provided. This of course is a bold faced lie. He did not provide a sales draft because there wasn't one prepared. He deliberately mislead the court to defend his position that he performed his duty in a reasonable manner and according to fiduciary protocol. Elizabeth Cowie, counsel for the CPAO, claimed that my fees were not paid and that the CPAO did everything it should have to respond to the charge back. This is a bold faced lie. She lied to defend her position and save her job since admitting the truth would expose the CPAO to a negligence claim in excess of a million dollars. (Thank yo...

Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches: The Riddles of Culture by Marvin Harris

When I first read this book in university, Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches: The Riddles of Culture by Marvin Harris I became very intrigued. The book describes the answers to some of the worlds culturally most intriguing and perplexing questions. Most of which are taboos, including why Hindus worship cows, and why "witches" flew to sabbats on broomsticks. I believe that Harris' intention in writing this book was to not just give his opinion on these strange taboos were established, but to make the statement that the most extreme taboos do have a logical background. I also believe Harris tried to establish that one taboo may lead to another. For instance, he believes that in order to explain one taboo, he may have to explain two or three others, in order to prove the logic behind the one. Cows, Pigs, Wars, and Witches: The Riddles of Culture is one of the only books that try to explain why men behave the way they do. Harris covers multiple taboos including the belie...

If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break

Last week Tim Kennish, CPAO council member and Harvard lawyer admitted that the CPAO "inadvertently" forgot to prepare a sales draft in response to a request by Global Payments. For those of you who did not go to Harvard what he really means is the CPAO is negligent and covering up the fraud by Marshall Sone. If you are a CPA you are funding legal fees to defend a fraud by Marshall Sone and to defend a legal action commenced by yours truly for negligence by the CPAO executive and council. It is time to fire Rod Barr for cause and to settle litigation concerning Sone. As they say at Harvard-"It is an inadvertent predicament we find ourselves in." Every day there is more fraud and corruption revealed at the CPAO. Everyday more rain. If it keeps on rainin' levee's goin' to break Call the CPAO and demand Rod Barr's resignation and a formal review of council. Fraser Simpson 647-884-1216

Fraser Simpson v CPAO litigation update: a must read for all CPA's and litigation lawyers.

This week the CPAO filed a motion to secure costs for the upcoming appeal to be heard this November 26th at Osgoode Hall. I invite everyone to attend and watch me perform my magic. Robert Rueter, or Bob as I like to call him was his usual incompetent dufus self. He spent 3 days and $25,000 on a frivolous motion where merit was previously ruled on by Justice Van Rensburg. Guess he needs the money. Next week we get the decision by Justice Epstein. To date the clowns at the CPAO have spent in excess of $250,000 defending an action with respect to the payment of my professional fees 6 years ago. Why? Because if they don't they will be liable for negligence and have to cut me a sizable cheque (cash please, large bills). To all CPA's I invite you to question the executive and question the validity of spending over $250,000 to pursue an action related to a 4,000 professional fee. Summary of the facts; (details are available on request) Marshall Sone paid my professional fees ...

Open letter to all CPA's

In 2008 a partner in my CA firm paid for my professional fees by credit card. Ordinarily this would not be such a significant event if not for the subsequent turmoil that resulted. You see, this partner was no ordinary partner. Far from it. His name was Marshall Sone. Though I did not know it at the time, it turns out this Sone character was a bad dude. A real bad dude. How bad? Let me count the ways. Let’s call him Foghorn Leghorn (if you saw him you would get it). Ole Foghorn has been convicted of fraud over $5,000 for stealing money from bankrupt clients while acting as a trustee in bankruptcy.   A real special character. He also repossessed a house from a couple undergoing cancer treatments in Erin. (he loaned them a 2 nd and defaulted all the time consoling the clients medical plight) Yup, ole Foghorn is one nasty dude. Back to my professional fees. Foghorn was caught stealing funds from the firm shortly after paying my fees and blamed me for his indiscretion....
